NOVELTY - Electrode comprises an anode and a cathode. The anode comprises a metal substrate and a nickel-cobalt alloy oxide layer is formed on the surface of the metal substrate. The cathode comprises a metal substrate and a polyaniline-graphene composite coating is formed on the surface of the metal substrate. USE - The electrode is useful in preparing hydrogen by electrolyzing salt-containing waste water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The electrode can be served for a long time under severe corrosion environment; achieves efficient synergistic catalysis using cathode and anode by adjusting the composition and structure of the anode and cathode; optimizes the synergistic catalytic effect of the cathode and the anode and enables anode to efficiently oxidize the chloride ions in the wastewater to hypochlorite, which can further serve as an oxidant to degrade organic matter and sterilize bacteria and the cathode can efficiently produce hydrogen. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing electrode comprising preparing anode including using nickel-cobalt alloy powder to form a nickel-cobalt alloy layer on the surface of the metal substrate through a cold spraying process and anodizing to form a nickel-cobalt alloy oxide layer on the surface of the metal substrate to obtain the anode and preparing cathode including uniformly mixing polyaniline and graphene and forming polyaniline-graphene composite coating on the surface of the metal substrate by a cold spraying process to obtain the cathode.
