NOVELTY - Preparing catalyst for producing hydrogen by electrolyzing water with large current density comprises mixing solid organic amine, metal and nano-carbon to obtain a mixture, ball milling to obtain the mixture, pyrolyzing the mixture under a nitrogen atmosphere, decomposing the metal catalytic solid organicamine, welding the metal with nano carbon in situ to obtain hydrogen catalyst for decomposing water to prepare hydrogen, where the thermal decomposition temperature is 300-650degrees Celsius, and the heat decomposition time is 10-24 hours. USE - The method is useful for preparing catalyst for producing hydrogen by electrolyzing water with large current density. ADVANTAGE - The method provides large current density electrolytic water hydrogen production catalyst with improved hydrogen production activity and efficiency, and reduced hydrogen production energy consumption. The method is simple, convenient to repeat, and provides catalyst with high current density and high hydrogen production efficiency.
