NOVELTY - A modified current collector (10) comprises a substrate (101) and a conductive layer (102) applied on one side or both sides of the substrate. The conductive layer comprises a conductive material and a binder material. The binder material comprises a copolymer comprising a structural unit (a). The structural unit (a) comprises one or more hydrocarbon-containing monomeric unit (I). USE - Modified current collector used for electrode (claimed) for secondary battery e.g. magnesium-ion battery, potassium-ion battery, sodium-ion battery, sodium-air battery, silicon-air battery, zinc-ion battery, sodium-sulfur battery and lithium-ion secondary battery for electric vehicle and grid energy storage applications. ADVANTAGE - The modified current collector provides the battery having excellent electrochemical performance. The binder material in the conductive layer of the modified current collector has excellent adhesiveness to the substrate and thus improves the mechanical strength of the electrode to prevent such delamination of the conductive layer. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A modified current collector comprises a substrate and a conductive layer applied on one side or both sides of the substrate. The conductive layer comprises a conductive material and a binder material. The binder material comprises a copolymer comprising a structural unit (a). The structural unit (a) comprises one or more hydrocarbon-containing monomeric unit of formula (I). R -R =H, hydroxy, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, halo or alkyl halide. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for an electrode (100), which comprises the modified current collector and an electrode layer (20).
