▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Making graphene oxide nanoparticles, comprises: (a) treating a material comprising one or a combination of wood charcoal, low grade coal, or carbonized plant biomass in a dilute alkali solution; and (b) separating the solution from the insoluble material and neutralizing the solution, in which a precipitate that appears after neutralization of the solution comprises graphene oxide nanoparticles having many sheets with a size of 40-200 nm in the open form. USE - The method is useful for making graphene oxide nanoparticles and a material comprising graphene oxide nanoparticles (claimed), where the graphene oxide nanoparticles or materials are useful for delivering the water soluble carbon nanoparticles loaded with a therapeutic and/or imaging molecule to the brain, in a subject across the blood brain barrier, for treating a brain disorder comprising dementia, vascular dementia or Alzheimer's disease, and cancer. Test details are described but no results given. ADVANTAGE - The method: is eco-friendly; and makes non-toxic graphene oxide nanoparticles which allow delivery of water soluble carbon nanoparticles loaded with therapeutic and/or imaging agents to a subject by releasing the therapeutic/imaging agent upon an increase in pH above 7.2. The graphene oxide nanoparticles provide reversible encapsulation of a molecule within water soluble carbon nanoparticles. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a material comprising graphene oxide nanoparticles, and produced by the above method, where the graphene oxide comprises many graphene sheets, a majority of the graphene sheets have a diameter when present in a closed form with 40-120 nm, and the graphene sheets have many carboxylic and hydroxy groups on the sheets.
