NOVELTY - A photoresponsive azobenzene grafted graphene material is obtained by connecting amino group on one end of azobenzene with carboxyl group of reduced graphene oxide or graphene oxide having sheet structure. USE - Photoresponsive azobenzene grafted graphene material. ADVANTAGE - The photoresponsive azobenzene grafted graphene material has excellent solubility with respect to organic solvent, optical and electrical characteristics and photoelectric conversion efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A photoresponsive azobenzene grafted graphene material is obtained by connecting amino group on one end of azobenzene with carboxyl group of reduced graphene oxide or graphene oxide having sheet structure. The azobenzene grafted graphene material is of formula (I). GN=graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide with single layer graphene structure; X=methyl, ethyl, propyl, methoxy or ethoxy;and Y'=nitryl. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of photoresponsive azobenzene grafted graphene material, which involves dispersing the graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide in thionyl chloride, reacting at 65-75 degrees C for 24-48 hours, decompressing, distilling to remove the thionyl chloride, vacuum drying the obtained product at 50-70 degrees C for 12-24 hours to obtain acetylated graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide, mixing the acetylated graphene oxide or reducing graphene oxide with N,N-dimethyl formamide in mass ratio of (4-7):1:(80-150), ultrasonically dispersing, reacting mixture at 120-130 degrees C for 72-120 hours under the protection of argon, cooling reaction mixture to room temperature, filtering the product, rinsing product using ethanol till the filtrate is colorless, collecting and vacuum drying the filter cake.
