NOVELTY - Method for preparing kaolin-based porous material for absorbing mercury in coal-fired flue gas involves (a) taking 50 g kaolin powder into the muffle furnace and activating, (b) adding the activated kaolin to the prepared iron salt solution, immersing, and washing the immersed iron-based kaolin-based porous material (Fe-kaolin), (c) ultrasonically mixing the impregnated iron-based kaolin-based porous material, 120 ml deionized water and 60 ml absolute ethanol uniformly, and adding graphene oxide (GO) to the mixture and ultrasonically mixing, (d) pouring the mixed solution into a PTFE lining, placing in an autoclave, (e) separating the mixed liquid into solid and liquid with a centrifuge, and placing the obtained solid into a oven to dry, and finally grinding the dried solid into powder, and using Fe-kaolin-GO to adsorb the kaolin-based porous material of mercury in coal-fired flue gas. USE - Method used for preparing kaolin-based porous material for absorbing mercury in coal-fired flue gas. ADVANTAGE - The method efficiently removes mercury pollution in the flue gas of coal-fired power plants, obtains raw materials easily, is cost-effective and environmentally-friendly, has high added value, and has high economic comprehensive benefits. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Method for preparing kaolin-based porous material for absorbing mercury in coal-fired flue gas involves (a) taking 50 g kaolin powder into the muffle furnace and activating at 700-800 degrees C for 2 hours, (b) adding the activated kaolin to the prepared iron salt solution with a pH of 4-5, immersing for 4-6 hours, and washing the immersed iron-based kaolin-based porous material (Fe-kaolin), (c) ultrasonically mixing the impregnated iron-based kaolin-based porous material, 120 ml deionized water and 60 ml absolute ethanol uniformly for 1 hour, and adding graphene oxide (GO) to the mixture and continuously ultrasonically mixing for 2 hours, (d) pouring the mixed solution into a PTFE lining, placing in an autoclave for 160-180 degrees C for 10 hours, (e) separating the mixed liquid into solid and liquid with a centrifuge, and placing the obtained solid into a 110 degrees C oven to dry for 2 hours, and finally grinding the dried solid into powder, and using Fe-kaolin-GO to adsorb the kaolin-based porous material of mercury in coal-fired flue gas.
