NOVELTY - Preparing graphene coated co-doped nickel hydroxide nitrate composite electrode material comprises (i) preparing graphene oxide, (ii) carrying out solvent thermal reaction, adding graphene oxide into cyclohexanol, adding nickel nitrate and cobalt nitrate to the above sonicated solution to obtain uniformly dispersed dispersion, pouring the dispersion into the reactor, carrying out hydrothermal reaction to obtain crude product and taking graphene oxide per 1 ml cyclohexanol, and (iii) taking the crude product, washing with water, centrifuging and vacuum drying. USE - The material is useful as electrode material for supercapacitors. ADVANTAGE - The method: is simple, fast, has low energy consumption, can improve the performance of the composite material, has high specific capacitance and rate capability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene coated co-doped nickel hydroxide nitrate (Ni3(NO3)2(OH)4) composite electrode material comprises (i) preparing graphene oxide, under ice bath conditions at 0-5 degrees C, mixing graphite powder and concentrated sulfuric acid, stirring in batches, adding potassium permanganate, reacting at 35 degrees C for 30-50 minutes, diluting the solution with dilute water until the solids in the solution are completely dissolving, transferring solution into a water bath at 80 degrees C, stirring at room temperature for 10-25 minutes, at this point the solution color to brown, continuously adding deionized water, until the solution turns brownish red, adding hot hydrogen peroxide, the solution quickly turns bright yellow, stopping the water bath, reacting, hot centrifuging and adding dilute hydrochloric acid and deionized water to neutral, placing sample in a freeze dryer to obtain graphene oxide, adding per 1 ml concentrated sulfuric acid into a 0.01-0.05 g graphite powder and the graphite powder and potassium permanganate mass ratio is 1:5, (ii) carrying out solvent thermal reaction to obtain crude product, adding graphene oxide obtained in the step (i) into cyclohexanol, ultrasound to disperse uniformly, adding nickel nitrate and cobalt nitrate to the above solution sonicated to obtain uniformly dispersed dispersion, pouring the dispersion into the reactor, carrying out hydrothermal reaction at 120-200 degrees C for 6h-24 hours to obtain crude product, taking 0.001-0.0025 g graphene oxide per 1 ml cyclohexanol, The components of the dispersion comprises 100 parts of cobalt nitrate, 3-5 parts of graphene oxide and 25-50 parts of nickel nitrate, (iii) taking the crude product obtained in the step (ii), washing with water, centrifuging, vacuum drying to obtain graphene coated co-doped nickel hydroxide nitrate composite electrode material.
