NOVELTY - Method for purifying water-dispersible carbon nanomaterial, involves (a) adding a sample of 1 g carbon nanomaterial to 150 ml flat-bottomed flask, adding 16.3 g potassium dichromate and 17 ml sulfuric acid in a ratio of 1:2, installing a reflux condensation and stirring device, and heating and refluxing at 130 degrees C for 2 hours to obtain a solution gradually changed from orange to dark green, (b) filtering the dark green solution, where the black substance on the filter paper is the carbon nanomaterial, and (c) drying the carbon nanotubes on the filter paper in an oven at 200 degrees C for 3 hours to obtain pure carbon nanomaterials, adding pure carbon nanomaterials to inorganic salt/alkali aqueous solutions, mixing, centrifuging using a centrifuge, and adding water to ultrasonically dissolve the sediment at the bottom to obtain carbon nanomaterials dispersed in the water. USE - The method is useful for purifying water-dispersible carbon nanomaterial. ADVANTAGE - The method solves the need to use lot of oxidants, and the reaction time is longer, and not suitable for mass production.
