NOVELTY - Graphene domain-containing activated carbon comprises a graphene domain exhibiting a peak at around 2,720 cm-1 on a Raman analysis graph and has a porous structure. USE - The graphene domain-containing activated carbon is useful in electrode of energy storage device e.g. a supercapacitor (electric double layer capacitor) (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene domain-containing activated carbon has high specific surface area characteristics as well as high electrical conductivity, and has improved performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing graphene domain-containing activated carbon, comprising (i) preparing a phenolic polymer precursor solution by dissolving a phenolic resin in a solvent, (ii) preparing a phenolic polymer by first heat-treating after adding a crosslinking agent to the phenolic polymer precursor solution, (iii) preparing a carbonized phenolic polymer by secondary heat treatment of the phenolic polymer, and (iv) activating the carbonized phenolic polymer with an alkali metal salt to obtain activated carbon containing a graphene domain.
