DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A graphene (G)-composite metal hydroxide (LDHs)-doped bismuth vanadate photoelectrode comprises complex of graphene and composite metal hydroxides, and bismuth vanadate, which is grown on the surface of a conductive glass. The graphene-composite metal hydroxide-doped bismuth vanadate photoelectrode is of formula G-LDHs/BiVO4. The photoelectrode has monoclinic crystalline structure, particle spacing of 50-120 nm and particle size of 200-300 nm. The complex of graphene and composite metal hydroxides are two-dimensional nanosheet assembly having flower-like structure with diameter of 3-5 mu m and lamellae thickness of 10-100 nm. The composite metal hydroxide (LDHs) is of formula: (M2+1-xM3+x(OH)2)(power(x+))(An-)x/n.mH2O, where M2+ is a divalent metal ion, preferably divalent nickel and divalent cobalt, M3+ is a trivalent metal ion, preferably trivalent aluminum and trivalent iron, An- is an interlayer anion, preferably nitrate, sulfate and/or carbonates, m is 5-15, x is 1/3-1. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of graphene-composite metal hydroxide-doped bismuth vanadate photoelectrode.
