NOVELTY - An adsorbent material comprises 1-10 wt.% aminated graphene oxide-modified diatomaceous earth. USE - Adsorbent material. ADVANTAGE - The adsorbent material has good heavy metal ion adsorption ability which far exceeds the diatomite, and enhanced and improved strength. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of adsorbent material comprising mixing 2-5 pts. wt. flake graphite, 300-500 pts. wt. concentrated sulfuric acid and 30-60 pts. wt. phosphoric acid, slowly adding 15-20 pts. wt. potassium permanganate, stirring at 45-55 degrees C for 9-18 hours, adding 300-500 pts. wt. deionized water and 20-50 pts. wt. 10-30% hydrogen peroxide when temperature is 0-5 degrees C, and stirring for 5-10 minutes; filtering, washing with deionized water, 10-30 wt.% hydrochloric acid and anhydrous ethanol, and vacuum drying to obtain graphene oxide; dispersing in 15-20 pts. wt. N,N-dimethylformamide solution, adding 40-60 pts. wt. thionyl chloride at 0-5 degrees C, heating to 65-80 degrees C while stirring for 30-40 hours, and dropping 1,6-hexanediamine, stirring at 0-5 degrees C for 2-6 hours; and spraying into surface of diatomaceous earth, and heating to 450-600 degrees C for 40-120 minutes under inert gas or nitrogen atmosphere.
