NOVELTY - Method for the dispersion of carbon nanotubes or graphene using external energy source for mixing, utilizing a hemicellulose that contains more than 80% of glucose, xylose or rhamnose in the backbone as a dispersion agent, is claimed. USE - The method is useful for fabricating the dispersion of carbon nanotubes or graphene, where the dispersion is useful for fabricating: an electromagnetic interference shield; a stealth coating; an electrically conducting and transparent coating; and a surface coating which is crosslinked using boric acid, dicarboxylic acid or citric acid, where the crosslinked material is useful for fabricating a supercapacitor and a heat exchanger (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method has minimal viscosity of medium during the fabrication that allows high loading of carbon nanotubes, and utilizes polysaccharides that allow higher carbon nanotube concentration than with conventional detergents; and provides dispersion of carbon nanotubes or graphene which: is stable indefinitely; has good electric contact between carbon nanotubes, and good overall electrical conductance of coating; and has excellent electromagnetic shielding properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a dispersion that is fabricated using the above method; and (2) extraction of hemicelluloses from plant materials, utilizing ultrasonic vibration during the extraction process.
